Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Background Remover — ProductShot Chrome extension ("Service") operated by EffyCorp ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Background Remover — ProductShot is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to remove backgrounds from product images using cloud AI processing, replace backgrounds with colors or preset backdrops, and export platform-ready image files for e-commerce marketplaces.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Account & Authentication
The Service uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in you authorize us to access your Google account email address for the purpose of creating and managing your account. We do not access any other Google account data.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@effycorp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscription & Payments
4.1 Free Tier
A free tier is available with a limited number of background removals per calendar month. The specific limit is shown within the extension and may be updated at our discretion with reasonable notice.
4.2 Paid Subscription
Paid subscriptions are available for unlimited processing. Billing is handled by PayPro Global Inc. ("PayPro"), our Merchant of Record, on a monthly recurring basis. By subscribing you agree to PayPro's terms of service in addition to these Terms. PayPro processes all payments and issues receipts.
4.3 Billing Cycle
Subscriptions renew automatically on a 30-day cycle from the date of the first payment. You will be charged using the payment method provided at checkout.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal link provided in the extension or by contacting support@effycorp.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
5. Refunds
Refund requests are subject to our Refund Policy. As PayPro acts as Merchant of Record, refund processing is handled according to their standard procedures. In general, refund requests submitted within 30 days of purchase are eligible for review.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process images you do not own or do not have a license to process;
- Process illegal, defamatory, or infringing content;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our AI models or backend systems;
- Circumvent usage limits or quotas through technical means;
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission;
- Use the Service in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its interface, branding, and underlying technology, is the property of EffyCorp and is protected by intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to the images you upload and to the output images you create using the Service.
8. Image Processing & Privacy
Images you submit are processed in real time by our AI pipeline. Images are not stored permanently on our servers after processing is complete. For details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EFFYCORP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, upgrades, or suspend the Service temporarily. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.
12. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration or the jurisdiction of competent courts, as applicable.
